Post-Christmas Check-In
Closed Published by Alison December 28th, 2005 in art & design, life, photos, tv.Last weekend was incredibly rad, and just above this post, you’ll see the Mom’s big Christmas present to me: awesome, gorgeous and fabulously retro “Fiesta Ware” dishes. YAY! The very best part? I get to mix and match all the pretty colors. Highly appropriate coming from me, as a few people reading this already know. [...]
One day late. Hope everyone had a great one!!
Seven Songs of the Moment
Closed Published by Alison December 24th, 2005 in aligator sites, memes & quizzes, music.Bronda_maye tagged me yesterday, and I’m late posting this, but better late than never, right? List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re any good, they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your [...]
BAAAA. I’m a sheep. ;-) I’ve had my MySpace account for a while now but just got around to actually filling everything out and using it. If you’re also on MySpace, please feel free to stop on by: http://www.myspace.com/absolutealigator And make sure your speakers aren’t turned up too loud: I’m taking advantage of the fact [...]
A light day at the comic book store. Just one book came in: – MOON CHILD, VOL. 1 by Reiko Shimizu (DC CMX) Diamond still hasn’t sent my copy of the new SHOJO BEAT, but things are pretty busy so I really wouldn’t have had the chance to read it this week anyway. ;-)

(I hope) ya’ll know who you are and also know that I’m grateful for you! – Mom [...]
So in addition to Harry Potter, yesterday, I finally watched the extended version of LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE KING in all of its five-plus hours of glory. The extra scenes devoted to Eowyn and Faramir — my two favorite characters — added a nice bit of closure that the regular version didn’t [...]
… with the Harry Potter thing. Just finished watching THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS and THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN back-to-back because I’d actually like to see the new film in the theater. While the plot twists were pretty well telegraphed and easy to figure out — not a criticism, as I do this on a maddeningly [...]
In addition to publishing impassioned rants (see below) and surviving my annual review (YAY! ^_^), today was Comic Book Day! This week’s stash: – FABLES #44 by Bill Willingham with art by Buckingham/Leialoha/Pepoy (DC / VERTIGO): Apparently, we’re off to the Middle East — at least temporarily — in this issue. – HANA-KIMI, VOL. 9 [...]
Seems like it to me. I just finished reading the most troubling, disturbing article in a very long time: New York City is starting a registry to track diabetics like they track those with contagious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. Truly insane. First of all, as I mentioned before: Diabetes is not contagious. Second [...]
